I know this has been asked before but I was wondering first will I be notified when my update is on TF? I uploaded mine yersteday but I haven’t received an email or anything yet. And second can those who have already purchased the template be notified by email? Someone said we can add in bold that the item has been updated but do people really check back? Thanks

Yes, you will be notified when it’s approved.

But existing purchasers will not be notified.

You could provide information about your updates by adding this to the description page for your templates.

If you think you will be providing updates to templates, it would be a good idea to state this in your help file and suggest buyers visit the theme page periodically to check for these updates.

Hope this helps!

I’ve noticed some users (mainly on FlashDen) are providing an RSS feed on their site for purchasers to subscribe to for notifying them of updates & new releases.

@Dan – Interesting. That’s a good idea.

Unfortunately, it’s not a perfect system. Hopefully, we can improve the site over the next year to include buyer notifications.

Yeah, that would be awesome. I think this is one of the only major flaws that the Envato marketplaces have. The update feature might not be so relevant for FlashDen or AudioJungle, but it’s huge for ThemeForest.

Yea I don’t think this is something that should be addressed in the next year, we need this right now. I have released two updates for my theme and I really have no idea if anyone came back and re-downloaded or even saw my update.
