Just about wrapping up a new magazine theme, and was thinking of holding off on uploading till after the first of the year. Pretty sure historically sales during the Holiday months have been slow, I know for me this month has been the slowest of the year. Basically telling me by uploading this next week I’ll see little to no sales and my file will be buried and gone forever by the time business’ start back up again.

Wanted to get other authors thoughts, have you seen slow sales as well? What would you do?

I don’t want to imagine the review queue in January… :(

It’s not the best to upload now but if everyone will wait until January, items will be visible probably for an hour on the homepage. :(

Yes the first half of January should be hilarious in terms of front page exposure.

I’ve released themes in December (right around holidays) and early January. I was not expecting the sales in December to do well, but they did. I think there is a weird effect of slowing new releases for longer home page exposure so new items get a slight bump in sales while existing items suffer the holiday slump effect.

I was also planning on releasing my next theme after the holidays but I’ve realised that a lot of other authors are also planning on doing this. This means that there will probably be a huge influx of items being approved straight after the holiday is over so now I probably might delay it further until things cool down a bit.
