I recently bought a WP theme for use in a project I’m handling. The theme comes with a slider feature that has refused to load images from the featured posts category I set it to load from. I’ve tried many suggesttions I found on the web about timthumb all to no avail.

My first move was to contact the theme designer with the screen name “system32” and after checking it out and saying he was going to help, he never replied and stopped responding to my emails for over 2 days now.

Problem is, my client’s already seen the site and gave me till morning (a couple of hours from now) to get it fixed. It’s more embarassing than I can describe.

I’ll really appreciate all the help I can get from WP experts here.

The theme I bought is this one – http://themeforest.net/item/dynamic-premium-wordpress-theme-4-in-1/full_screen_preview/68550

You can see how it works perfectly, the slider etc.

The site I’m working on is this – http://nigerianpolishinitiative-ng.org/

My server has PHP5 installed so I guess it has what’s needed for the slider to work (which I think it is, as its even sliding between the posts, only that it doesn’t display the images).

Please help! :-(

try to find ‘cache’ folder inside the theme folder and change the folder permission into 777

Good luck :)

I already did that. :-(

I even went ahead to give 777 permissions to all the related files and folders I could think of – timthumb.php, slider.php, cache.php, scripts.php and even the folder containing the theme files :-(

Huh… somebody pls help! :-(

I see this:

You don’t have permission to access /wp-content/themes/Dynamic/scripts/timthumb.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Try:

1.Use 755 instead of 777
2.If using Hostgator, you need to contact them to enable timthumb
3.try removing the http:/...stuff ie use “wpcontent/uploads/image.jpg” only

use 755 on what? the timthumbfile or the scripts folder?

Maybe I should mention, that I had to create the Scripts folder myself as the theme designer didn’t make a scripts folder. he just included the timthumb file with the other theme files

And no… I’m not using HostGator

There’s nothing wrong with what he did.

644 on timthumb.php, 755 on the folder containing timthumb.php

Just did it now and also cut out the http part on some of the image-custom fields to see if it works but nothing… :-(

To see if it works I just need to refresh the site right?

Oh dear… :-(

Look at the source code. I don’t know what you did, but the timthumb script does not even have a “src” attribute!
