an auto generated once a month email would perhaps be a good idea to remind you to rate your items… say after two or three months you haven’t rated an item then it’s removed from the email otherwise it will become quite nagging…

after user purchase an item a msg box with rating should pop up which says that if you tired the product why not help the aurthor by rating it too or similar kinda dialogue.

Maybe something that’s always visible on the file page.. because they will keep visiting the page after purchase to post comments, so they’ll be reminded to rate with this prompt… there’s space for it, so why not.

This is exactly what I had in mind, it would sit in there nicely with little effort on Envato’s side and it’s probably the first place users go when they want to rate an item. An auto-generated email would be nice too, but I’d settle for the additional rate location!

Really Nice idea
My recent file sale more than 50, but it doesn’t have rating stars

It’s funny how when someone isn’t satisfied, he find it really quick

sorry designedbydash, I see in ur post u mentioned rating on the description page – but that’s my visual representation – we thought the same thing
From my sales, only 25% chose to rate, I think that number would be higher if the rating section was not only on a page you view once when downloading… also why would you rate something before download, for ratings to happen buyers would need to do the following 1) know where the rating page is – might not be that obvious 2) remember to go back to the page to rate after using the file… like others have said, some might only make the effort for negative ratings, because it takes effort to remember and find the page.
