Using Helvetica

As I know helvetica is the most expansive font out there and not every has it, so why do you use in you themes?

It comes with Mac and some PCs as well as software (I think). So while it’s expensive to purchase individually, a lot of people already have it installed on their computer.

Unless you deleted it from your computer, you should have it already. It’s used in themes commonly because 1) it’s a web safe font (ie. everyone has it) and 2) it’s a clean, simple and generally aesthetically pleasing font that can be used in many, many ways.

It’s actually $99 for the whole family, but I’m guessing he saw Helvetica Neue and assumed it was Helvetica. Either way, most people don’t manually purchase themes anyway, so it’s a practical question.

$100 for the family is true, either way, there are fonts out there worth a whole lot more…

Helvetica Neue is, and it’s a variation of Helvetica. More weights and slight differences.
