Not sure if its just my bad luck or this is quite common but I would like to share my my first experience using it… well there’s not much to share to be honest…. – I needed help with a simple illustration… sent the brief with example graphics to 3 different designers that advertised their services on ES…. didn’t receive a single reply within 6 days…

What’s the point of this service if no one could be bothered to reply?

Hi LeBrIt, I’m sorry to hear about your experience with the service.

The thing here is the services provided in Envato Studio will depends on providers performance, so, if you didn’t get replies to your requests is not an Envato issue, please check on the right side of service the statistics for “Deliveries”, “100% Recommended” and “Avg. Response Time” to have an idea of the performance of the provider.

That seems very poor… I’d have thought you’d have heard back from at least one, even if they weren’t interested. That said, perhaps you could send them a further prompt just in case there is a reason for their lack of response?

If it’s any consolation I had exactly the same experience. Zero response from three different designers. I gave up in the end and used a different site.

Didn’t bother as I figured in any new venture like this there’s always going to be a couple of bad eggs. A little embarrassing when a client loved the illustrators’ styles and we had to go back to them after a while and tell them the designers hadn’t got back to us :S

Nope, just gave up. Which was a shame as I had £500 budget for this relatively straight forward character illustration that would have taken probably less than a day for someone to complete.

For this to work I think would be important to make sure that designers who participate in Studio project are active. For instance system could automatically remove them from lists if they haven’t logged in within certain time frame or something along those lines.

I don’t know… it needs improvement…

Hey LeBrIt, I’m Jords and I’m the comms manager for Studio. Super appreciative of your feedback, and I’m really sorry to hear about your experience :(. While it’s not typical (especially if you contacted 3 people) it can happen… But that doesn’t make it ok and we’ve got a lot of work lined up to help address unresponsive providers. We understand the frustration completely.

We expect Envato Studio service providers to be responsive to buyer enquiries and jobs and if they’re not available because they’re on holiday or whatever the reason, then we expect them to pause their services to avoid making people wait. Our ops team is currently identifying and speaking to providers who aren’t playing by the rules in terms of responsiveness – and we’ve got a whole lot of new features lined up for product to speed up communication and signals around responsiveness on the actual site. :)

Not sure how it works currently, but if a buyer purchases a job and there is no response from service provider for certain amount of days, it supposed to impact on reputation in an automated manner. And a cancellation email supposed to reach buyers in predefined manner. There is no point in asking buyers to manually report about a thing which can be already measured by the system itself. Tough situation though for everyone involved.
