I am. I work professionally as a Nuke compositor. That’s what pays the bills.

Because it’s generally thought that stock undermines industry pricing.
How will there be a stock VFX section? It’s always bespoke by its very nature. There are plug-ins and tools that help you to automate processes, but it’s essentially a long and painstaking process, tailored to a particular shot.

Why not VFX projects?
You have a test shot for example, eyes watching at camera with fire shooting from eyes.
The clients needs to give you his footage of eyes that you work on…
I think it could be done…

Yeah? How you going to automate the tracking of the fire into the eyes? or drawing the mattes for the lower eye lids?
VFX pretty much always involves bespoke work – painstaking workmanship, specifically tailored to the user’s footage. There’s match-moving, rotoscoping, chroma-key, color-matching, grain matching. These are all aspects based on the original shot…
It’s a bit different to swapping out the text and dropping your images in.

Sounds like a piece of a demoreel that a client watches and chooses you. But since every VFX shot is unique he could never get an AE project or Nuke flow, import his footage and hit a render button
GhosTeam, thank you..
Meanwhile you guys are chatting I have to mention this crazy VFX of Battleship video from ILM, I don’t remember seeing anything so sophisticated as this one.
