There is a thread already about new VH player I know. But this is a very inconvenient and specific problem!
Guys the player has no time? Are you joking ? Any buyer, any client needs to see the lenght in seconds of the video. This is serious people. I hope it’s just one of those small-big mistakes.
Come on VH player has to show a duration of the video.
I realy can’t believe that they have removed it.
Sometimes in the broadcasting and tv industry one second of a commercial shown between tv shows costs 500 to 5000$.
(caps on) DURATION IS IMPORTANT. (caps off)
by the way, the old player was better, the volume adjustment was more handy, and the lenght of the video was always there because the UI did not hide automaticaly. I would remove that automatic hide, it’s there and it has to be there, it’s not a movie you don’t have to sit back, relax and watch it, you have to track the lenght constantly because sometimes you need to know where you can cut the animation off if you purchase it, now it is impossible. Very disapointed. As I client I would take a watch and start counting seconds… hilarious.
so: give the time duration back and turn off the auto hide.

The oldest player was the best: time code, properly looped videos, full screen.

Cyzer, hover your cursor over the playback bar, and it will show you a popup with the timecode.

he’s referring to total time not time position under the cursor. And is annoying to move the mouse to get the total time.
but that time pop up callout is nice
1 good thing is the new embed option ! or was it there before?

I know, but it doesn’t show the actual footage duration wich is previewed. It shows the duration of the spot where the mouse is. So if I want to know the duration I have to follow the timeline with a mouse while waching the video?
for me that is ok, but for many clients it has to be in clear view. it’s a product, we sell it, we need technical details about it. As a buyer I need it in a constant plain sight. No mouse following, no auto hide. I don’t want to make any actions while I am watching it, I just want to pop a quick sight onto duration and back to animation preview.
Some buyers are lazy, so in a favor of some comfort we will loose the lazy buyers who did not figure out how to: move the cursor onto the time line and follow the timeline bar with a mouse while watching the video.

I think the player could have as many information as possible about the item. what software you need (if template) resolution, framerate, plugins, duration, price.
My experience is. open the video, look at 30% – how much this cost? – close the video – ah, 12$ dollars, why only 12? – open video, look again till 40% – how many sales this got? – close the video – ah, ok, only 1812 sales – what? – open video again see the rest.
I know is retarded but if I have a question i need the answer immediately, can’t wait one minute till the video ends.

I agree. Seeing the full duration of the clip is a must. Furthermore, you could see the video image preview being shown for a second before the actual preview. This image is fixed with resolution of 590px but the FLV preview could go as high as 960px ? This results in some nasty artifacts caused by scaling the image to fit the larger player window. It looks bad. Hope they fix it.
Other than that – hooray! for full screen
