I have a client that wants me to code a design they’ve had made, but I’m not sure what Volusions uses/how to make a template for their CMS …? I’ve asked and they say it’s simply HTML /CSS, but is there some type of catch? It seems a little odd to me.

Also, what is the safest way to be paid online? Wire Transfer? Paypal?

never heard of Volusions.

But use paypal as the method of payment, and always ask 50% in advance. You should only deliver the final work once the client has payed 100%

I usually ask 50% in advance, and another 50% to deliver the project. This will prevent people from paying 50%, get the final project and then disappearing to never be seen again

Also send a password protected zip/rar file just in case ;) And indeed always ask for upfront payment of 50%(depense on the type of job)

If you’re talking about www.volusion.com, that site definitely has some CMS behind it (something in ASP , but with mod_rewrite you can never be sure these days).

As for payment, use DD’s and Mark’s advices :)
