One of our devs drinks almost an entire (small) pot per day. Although there are a few who are trying to be healthy and have gone from energy drinks to coffee and are now drinking green tea. (Green tea also has high levels of caffeine).
I like coffee, but sometimes it makes me feel a bit gross. I’ve only been drinking it for a few years (when I was living in London in winter, it was nice to have something warm to drink!) I’m a bit of a lameo though, haha, there is no way I could drink 3 cups per day! If I have 1 and a half cups I get really jittery and start racing around.

I think he was talking about beans. I used to order fresh coffee every week as well – ground and shipped on the same day. On the second or third day you could tell that it’s getting a little stale but it was still quite OK compared to any other homemade coffee or having an expensive grinder on your own.
Now I don’t drink coffee anymore, wanted to get better at waking up and going to bed earlier (which happened, yay) and I don’t miss it anymore, the addiction itself was actually very small. Maybe once or twice a week I will drink a decaff ristretto for the old times sake, but that’s it.
Can’t start programming until I have a BIG cup of very strong coffee, or strong black tea, or Red Bull when I really need lots of mental energy.
Red Bull makes programming so damn easy – fingers are jumping on keyboard, creating code apart from me, I don’t even need to put any effort in this – it’s almost like playing on a piano. But drinking RB every day isn’t healthy so I’m trying to drink it not too often.
There is 2 very important moment in the history of the homo sapiens. First, the discovery of fire Then the coffee.
