Hey guys. I was wondering if a few people could check out the homepage of my website and give me a few tips on what to improve. It’s just the home page right now, but it’s a start, and I’d like some tips on polishing it. Thanks!
Here’s a few pictures of it.
I like it, very neat and tidy. You asked for some tips so here goes:
Where’s the logo? It’s awfully small lol. The heading in the slider needs to be aligned with the text underneatth it and the buttons need toning down a little.
Condider adding a call to action button as well as teh read more button.
The twitter thing is fun, the times should probably be left aligned – and is that a feature you really want so prominant – consider putting in teh footer – bit of spacing here and there would help too.
The nav bar – its okay as it is, it might be worth seeing what it looks like with it’s own little “panel” underneath it if that makes sense – makes it pop out a bit.
That’s all I have on the fly – hope that’s enough to give food for thought, I really dont think you are far off a submission, and you ask for critique but that doesn’t necessarily mean your wrong.
Good luck friend!
Thanks! I don’t quite get what you’re talking about with the nav bar, but the other tips sound great. I’ll revise it tonight and put up another photo. Thanks again for the tips!
What is the P button in the corner? Other than that it looks great. BTW I like your avatar.
I agree, the logo hurts the template. Also, the header in the slider should line up with the other text, oh and I am not really loving the buy now button.

Hi there, daughtrytaylor, I think you could deemphasize some parts of the design, because right now they’re a bit too screaming – for example the twitter feed is not so important.
There is also a double standard I think – “Latest news” and “Twitter” are common containers but they differ totally in terms of capital letters, text align, underline. Maybe think about a more consistent look – the layout is small enough to achieve it.
I like the overall concept, simple and working.
