Weekly Time Spent on Support?

I’m getting ready to submit my first Wordpress theme in a few days, and in the rare event that it does get approved, and in the even rarer event that it becomes a success, how much time should I expect to spend per week on support?

So to all of the authors out there, about how many support requests do you get per week, and how long does the average one take to resolve?

I think a lot of people could benefit by seeing the average number of support requests per 100 sales, for example, and to see how much time that takes.

Also, during what time of day do most support requests come in?

Around 3/4 minutes * sale could be an average support time… considering that some never ask anything and some ask you 10 question every 10 seconds

I just had a bizarre support request asking for a refund: Basically he though everyone had a portrait monitor.

I think one user took up about 30% of my comments for one item. In the end I just got tired and gave up…

On average I spend at least 1-2 hours a day (M-F).

I’ve been getting like 10-15 emails a day which is kind of a pain but really I only spend still like 15-20 minutes helping them out so its not that big of a deal.

This was officially my first month as a themeforest author having had my first theme approved, and I’m definitely spending more time on support than I thought I would. Every day I’ll have about 8/9 emails that would only require 2/3 minutes of my time and maybe 3/4 that would take anything from half hour to an hour. Probably about 3 hours a day in total.

Good thread for buyers as well.

I sign a year maintenance agreement with all my clients so all changes are my responsibility for that year. I’d say on average I spent 15-20 hrs./week on support/changes for all clients.

I never spend more than say… 3-4 hours/week with my clients. Why so much time?

EDIT : Sorry, now I read “all my clients” Guess it’s mostly the same for me, depends on the number of clients

I suppose tonvie does a different kind of work. More personalized and for more than 35$ / theme…
