Hey guys, I have got a problem with depth of field in AE. I tried to search it up in ggl, and surely have found some other fellas having the same problem but no answers, no solving tips.
Maybe any of you know what is the problem?
Basicly it is a noise line along the focused spot.. and it moves when depth of field moves, always stays on the focus spot.

It happened to me a lot of times… Change the angle of the camera, or go to the Material options of the footage and try to play with these options.

@Cyzer…
Are you using CS5 .5? I vaguely remember having seen this in the past too. It may have been fixed already.
If you are using 5.5, it’s probably worth filing a bug with Adobe.

Try to change from 8bpc to 16 or 32, it removed it for me a couple of times. Also try to restart ae/purge before render. Sometimes what you see in the preview window is not what you get in the final render, try to render it out and see if it is there or not?
These are all guesses, good luck

I assume working in 16 bits by default wont do you any harm. Anyone has a good reason why 16bit instead of 8bit or vice versa? Some features do act strange in 16bits, however it solves a few problems when working with color in higher bits (the ever popular ramp effects at least..though there are various ways of dealing with ‘em in 8bit).

as far as I know, but not sure about it, is that motion blur is better generated in 16 or 32 bits.
