Have the exact same HD although in the 1TB version. I have it about a year and a bit. Never caused me any trouble whatsoever.

Have both a Seagate and WD externals neither has failed in over 3 years, would definitely recommend either of them.

Looks at his desk with a dead WD drive, shakes head

WD has normally been ok for me, although the last one I bought lasted under 6 months before it died…pretty annoyed about that. Was a 500GB, none of my seagates have given me that clicking sound of death. Still have it maybe if I’m successful on flashden some day I might be able to pay that huge fee to potentially get my data back…
