I was wondering what you guys expected when you signed up to sell some stuff here. To be honest, I was expecting a few sales every other day or so, but as soon as my first file was approved, I was mesmerized by how quick I got sales. :P

How about you guys, any expectations when you signed up?

You only have to look at the weekly popular files to see how the quality has gone up in the last year. I signed up thinking it’d actually be quite easy – I was wrong as the quality is REALLY high here (which is great).

It’s awesome, I love it!!!

Indeed. I thought it was as simple as upload and get approved. However, it is a definite plus to see quality is a necessity. :) It makes you feel special when you get something approved. :P

Rejection is a good thing, it encourages high quality standards, and helps you grow as an artist and developer. There are many talented authors here, so if you want to get in the game, you gotta be real good.

I come from a 3D background and a few months back started dealing with web design/development. My first item was rejected ( If you see it, you cry! ). After the rejection things changed. I started researching, reading and practicing for almost 3 months.

Since then I have uploaded 2 items, and no rejections since. The trick is to keep practicing and polishing your skills and creativity. It will pay up at the end of the road.

ALL hard work pays off, eventually.

The top sellers / selling files have certain elements that make them top sellers and those elements are very challenging to predict or guarantee until you try and fail / get rejected.

So essentially failure is the stepping stone to success as usual.

Unless you are simply born the best, haha.

One thing that is easy to get misled by though is that you can simply make a top selling file and retire off of it.

I stopped working here for a year and went to Dell and my earnings slowly but surely dwindled down.

Been back for about two months & they will grow again.

Let me know when the stock options are available Collis & 401k (Based on Sales, Tenure & Referrals) since that has helped these communitied grow from 20k to over about 300k in a little over 2 years.

8-)

Definitely agree. There are just a ton of great & amazing items here. That’s what I like about it compared to other marketplaces, you only find good stuff here, others out there have the good mixed with the junk and filtering through them takes quite some time.
