What do you think about this layout? It’s the weblayout for my new webmastercommunity. Things that i need to change?
Very nice, I love the use of the green:o)
The two columns are divided in a very disproportional way. Either divide the layout in two equal columns, or 1/3 + 2/3, or using the golden rule.
Although the layout is pixel-perfect, there is a problem in the visual hierarchy. Use some shades of gray to distinguish the elements. Accept that the user won’t (and don’t have to) see all elements all at once, and many users will miss to see some features. Right now the user won’t see the important features neither. For example, the secondary navigation (commonly called “service navigation”) is too loud. The search is also a bit too contrasting, as well as the footer. The presence of the logo in the footer is pointless to me. The checkboxes remind me of 99 Designs’ footer.
There’s a lack of focus – the News are at the most important position, but the banners on the right fight for focus with them and this is frustrating (can lead to choice paralysis). I would fix this by switching the news and the banners, or by decreasing the visual noise of the News.
There’s a wrong metaphor in the Latest Topics section – the arrow for the More Designs link points down, which suggests extending the container, while the link probably leads to a new page (otherwise the horizontal rhythm would suffer).
You have some great color selection, looks very pleasing overall – just a few touches are needed.
Have a great day,
What an eye! I took some tips as well.
Looks like a new envato marketplace
Thanks for the tips cmt!
@Radykal Haha, yeah the footer looks a little bit the same But the designer even don’t know envato. And this webmastercommunity is only for Belgium and Netherland, maby in the future for other country’s if they are intrested.
I think it looks great! I love the colors and the way they mesh. Very, very visually appealing.
