What do you think? (question for advanced WP developers)

Hi,

I have a question for pro developers. Is about our first template, Retro, accepted on themeforest 2 months ago. We would like to create more themes for themeforest and make this our “full time job” and since then we have another 2 templates approved in “site template” category.

Meanwhile I received emails from themeforest buyers asking for wordpress version of Retro and we started working on it and after many days of hard work yesterday was ready. But a few hours ago our theme was rejected. Here is the message I got from reviewer:

Thank you for taking the time to submit your item. Unfortunately this item does not meet our current technical quality requirements and cannot be accepted at this time. Please continue reading for additional information.

I understand the HTML version has been approved but the WP category has much higher standards and I’m sorry to say this doesn’t make the grade.

After a close look at the latest themes approved I’m not sure what mean his answer because I think we have a solid framework and our theme has many features and shortcodes. The same framework was used for a theme which is for sale on the other marketplace similar to Themeforest and it was on “Most Popular Items This Week” for more than 3 months.

I’m very frustrated and not sure what must be done to get our theme approved, and that’s why I need your help.

Bogdan, I’d definitely contact support asking for further clarifications regarding rejection.

One thing I’d suspect is that full-screen-background-slideshow thing is becoming a saturated style within TF, so you’d need to really WOW the reviewer in order to pass.

But definitely ask for a clarification.

Try submitting them theme again – maybe you’ll get a different reviewer

I do not think so, but even if this is the reason for rejection, the reviewer did not mention anything about it in the feedback I received. We had sent them a support ticket and hopefully we’ll get a clarification.
