Hi guys , I have a question about WP category.

What if I take one of my html theme and I only code the blog page so it work with WP but no other content ? Can it be sold as a WP ?

I understand that complete CMS website have an higher value and I want to code some site entirely in WP but I have some site I don’t want to code all in WP but I want to add blog features.

Thanks !

You have to code it all from what I know. I mean, make it a ‘full’ theme, otherwise it won’t work ;)

Yeah but if all other pages are coded in HTML and the blog is coded in WP .. it’s a full theme .. what’s the difference between that and a WP theme that is a single blog , with category , post etc etc ? ..

Difference is that most people want the Page templates(WP pages) to match with the rest of the site, so the Wordpress theme has a CMS functionality.

If you look at my portfolio my theme was done in html then I converted it to Wordpress. I chose to add some extra features that aren’t in the html.

The whole theme will need to be a wp theme, you wont be able to have html files in your wp theme.

it doesn’t make too much sense, because you need to make full wordpress theme, and in wordpress every static page could be just like your html pages.

I think a lot of your customers would be pretty annoyed if they brought a WP theme and it didn’t work throughout the site. All themes at a minimum should have the following files:

style.css index.php – Home archive.php – Categories, Tags etc. single.php – Single Post page.php – Page

If it doesn’t then its not a wordpress theme.
