I’ve seen many authors use the word pixel perfect to introduce their button or icon files. What does that mean?

Just super clean and sharp details, no pixel shifting or slobby shapes.

Mostly they use vector based paths and object in photoshop instead of pixels.

@LiveAtTheBBQ:
it’s not enough only if you use vetore shape. If the vector shape i’st on the right place, the pixels on the edges might not gonna be perfect.

This is kind a stuipid for me… Why Photoshop even let you to make shape between pixels? Pixel is smallest measure unit we use and I think it shouldnt let you to draw between them… Is there any use of this…

@DesignMagazin if you have a complex job, especially ui, yes you want to use vector shapes. It gives you more flexibility. And not only for you – when you editing, but for the user/buyer who might want to make some changes and edit (more than likely they do). It’s a God’s bless if the parts are in vector shape. BUT! when you clone a button, or symbol. You should check the position of your copy. Otherwise the edges might be different. e.g not pixel perfect.

Something else. you have an imperfect shape. And you want to resize it. The result will be more ugly. If the shapes are in the right place, there will be no deformed edges.
