Monthly bandwidth? Are there still providers limiting your monthly bandwidth?
I have 1TB included, then there is a charge for overage I think.
I did have an unlimited account on an unnamed provider.. coff – eleven2 – coff… but it didn’t take them long to kick me off haha

in 1 day I have managed to use 40% of my months bandwidth!![]()
I think every Australian provider limits your monthly bandwidth. There are “unlimited” plans but they slow your speed to dial-up if you reach your limit (eg: ours is 200gb a month).
(edit: never mind, I thought you were talking about ISP bandwidth for hosting at home. But yer, still plenty of providers who limit server bandwidth)

The “unlimited traffic” is a scam. Not mentioning providers but when me and a friend released a game that exploded we were shut down. It was the weekend so we couldn’t do anything. When we got through to them on monday they said the server were “on its knees” so they had to shut us down. If anyone has a link to a host with true free traffic and a fixed monthly or yearly cost I’d be surprised. I’m sure quickandeasy would be too ^^
I run a tutorial site(web development topics). Have not yet monetized it, but thinking of using BSA or adsense.

I’m pretty happy with Mediatemple, their support is incredible + worth paying a slight premium for.
Once I’ve limited free downloads to 1 or 2 per week/month etc, the bandwidth allowance will be more than sufficient
Can’t keep giving for free, gotta get monetize it somehow

I always thought a good practice is to give everything away for free while you build a userbase, and then start limiting and introducing premium content. Don’t feel bad Q&E, after all you worked hard on your website, you deserve some financial reward.
