I prefer to have total control of my hosted server.. so I opted to get RackSpace’s cloud server. I think I’m paying around $20 a month. Their support is awesome as always.
I’ve been using 1and1.com for the past 5 or 6 years. Have quite a few web sites with them, including my official MikS Music site. I don’t have much experience with other providers but so far 1and1 didn’t give me a reason to switch.

I use a service called DreamHost and am quite pleased. MUCH beter than GoDaddy. If anyone is interested in switching, I can get discounts.Feel free to contact me directly with questions.
Dreamhost is a great hosting option imo.

Definitely Stylius! I think this thread will help a lot of people but it would be great if some of the contributors would share a bit more info about their exp.

If you feel confident about learning Linux System Administration, I would definitely recommend getting a VPS . You can always learn on a virtual machine and ask for help here in the forums!
