I’ll go ahead and endorse everything you’ve already been told. You’re welcome to download your own items via the list view, and you definitely don’t need to buy them to do so. I’m just going to add a suggestion which is to also back your files up elsewhere, just to be extra-cautious! It’s helpful to be able to download them from here but there are dedicated services that might be worth looking into.

Also, sorry to hear about your Macbook. I had an unfortunate experience with my (ex-)laptop a while back, so I can relate. :crying:

If the hard drive is removable might be worth testing it in a caddy. I had a PC die of hard drive failure last year and was told by several repair guys they’d have to send it off to recover the data at great expense. Instead I bought a £30 USB hard drive caddy, put the drive in that and it appeared straight away on my desktop so i was able to back up the files.

If you’re not using flash storage then sometimes drives can start working again when they’re removed and shaken about to loosen up the mechanical bits (technical term).

go buy an external casing for your hard drive then try accessing it from another device and see if it you can still recover the files. It usually works.
