If you want my opinion: netbeans for everything php related (a real ide with useful code completition), textmate for quick changes and small projects (like html only stuff)

Coda is definitely the best
+1 Coda works really well. It’s a very clean interface and it runs really smoothly.
Also, if you’re heavy into writing PHP applications, NetBeans is really awesome. NetBeans is free and Coda is not. I use both programs on my computer, depending on what kind of project I’m working on. NetBeans has a lot of features and thus uses a lot more computer resources than Coda. One thing that’s pretty cool is anytime you make any kind of PHP syntax error, it tells you. It’s almost like how when you’re using Word and you make a grammar or spelling error, it tells you.
Then, there’s another really popular commercial program called TextMate, which is similar to Coda. I personally like Coda better. One of the biggest differences is that the way Coda handles FTP , it makes you feel like you’re editing files locally when they’re actually on your web server. It’s pretty cool.

I use Coda for big PHP projects, and Espresso for small projects and XHTML / CSS projects. These two softwares are definitely the best
