My html template Link sells good and lots of customer ask me for a wordpress version of this template. So I made a wordpress version but I got 2 hard reject because of aesthetics requirements. What is the problem? If the problem was in the wordpress code side I can understand but I really can not understand hard rejections now…
Reason of reject; “You need to put significant work on it in terms of aesthetics and typography. “
Wordpress demo page link is; Link
Very creative design. This happens a lot in TF. An author submit an Site Template and gets approved, then try to get approved the WP version and is hard rejected. I recommend you open a ticket support and explain your situation.
I hope this helps.
Thanks for your reply. I already opened a ticket. But I think the problem is wordpress category standards. Sorry I forgot to write full rejection message.
Reason of reject; “We understand this has been approved in Site Templates but the WordPress category has higher standards, thus we cannot approve it at this time.
You need to put significant work on it in terms of aesthetics and typography. “
What do you think ? Is this design really insufficient for wordpress category ??
Well, if the reviewer told you that needs improvements (no matter is was approved as Site Template), so, you has two choices:
1.- Make important improvements on the current WP version
2.- Start with another new theme.
Just my opinion. Good luck, @egemenerd!
Hey man awesome template. I had the same thing happened to me. What i can suggest is if it got rejected than there is something wrong with the back end. I was suggested by one of the reviewers to make the back end user friendly another suggestion was to work off the twenty twelve don’t over load it With thousands of functions, features and fonts keep it simple but organized don’t clutter it up.
I would use different fonts i mean it’s creative but make the template look cheap. Also the tape that holds up the background do something with the shadow. I would make it look like the tape is actually attached to the background now it looks like it’s hovering above it. I would use a PT Sans Narrow font or the Titilluim title 12 font they look nice and thin.
That’s what i can suggest.
Cheers and good luck
Thanks for your suggestions mafloral
You are right. Tape shadows looks bad and I will try to change fonts. I hope this theme will be approved. I really think that this theme have a big potential
You have used good font in html version. But WP version you need to use that font because your design and that font not look prof. And also check your template with Theme Checker you need to clean all errors. While coding WP turn on WP Debug and clean all error even Notices.

I’m trying some different fonts on the wordpress version right now, so don’t look at fonts on demo now
I sent you an e-mail
I made some improvements on my theme and it gets a soft reject now
Reason of reject; “You made quite a few nice improvements but the inner pages still have a generic and unfinished look.
The theme will need more improvements in terms of typography, visual hierarchy and aesthetics.
The problem is not only the typeface combination, here’s a nice article to help you understand more about visual hierarchy in web design:http://webdesign.tutsplus.com/articles/design-theory/understanding-visual-hierarchy-in-web-design/
Consider working more here, the theme has potential but it’s not there yet.”
I agree with the reviewer about inner pages. I will work on them. What can I do about improving visual hierarchy? ... Any idea?
In my experience it’s also likely to be rejected if you don’t provide a blog section (also comments), another reject reason is that the theme it’s required to work on IE8 (I’m guessing you use Impress.js, so I believe that you might need to offer alternative content for IE8). Anyway I’ve seen some themes passing even without the above.
