PC can have 2 Xeon with 24 processors and 48 cores. The render can overcome all dream of the artist. :) The downside is that it consumes a lot of electricity.

Errata: PC can only have 2 Xeon processors and 24 cores … (48 threads) I misspoke. Excuse

Laptop:

15” MacbookPro Retina 2.7GHz quad-core i7 (Turbo up to 3.7GHz) w/16GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M
512GB SSD

I’m thinking about selling the MacPro since I don’t typically need so much render power anymore due to the lower amount of deadline-heavy client work (thanks Videohive!). Although I would LOVE to get my hands on one of the new MacPro’s coming out soon.
I want that laptop!! How is the performance working with 3D and rendering?

The MacBook Pro is quite capable. Of course, you’re never going to get the same horsepower from a laptop that you would from a tower computer, but if you don’t do a whole lot of majorly intense rendering, the MacBook Pro is a very good machine.

Thank you very much for the answer! I’m looking for a new machine to work but I can’t decide yet between the Mac Pro or a MacBook Pro Retina (haswell).

How about the new iMac is it also a good choice for After Effects works? I’m still thinking to buy new iMac instead upgrading my PC.
