Hi all. I want to offer some of their non-approved items for free download. Which license should I use for these items? Items may be used only for personal purposes (not commercial).

Thanks

Do you want to have a file as Free File of the Month? If so you need nominate your item in this forum thread. But the item must be one already accepted to the marketplace and must have a minimum of 4 star rating.

You will find any other details about the process there.

No. I want to offer my unapproved items to download for free on my website. I want to know which license should I give for these items to download. Items may be used for personal use, not for commercial, not for resale, and the like.

How about Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial (CC-NC)?

that is a good suggestion, if you do not want to permit commercial use BUT they can do personal stuff and share it as their will

Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial is probably what I need. Personally, edit and share can not, or yes? Edit and share it possible under this License Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0. Or I’m wrong?

i think giving the permission to edit and share is better. people will get creative and show their edited works and also of course give you credit for that ;)

I have one more question. I have to give the checkbox to agree to the license, or just put a link to the license to download item?

Just including the license terms in the download should be enough, I think.
Thats usually how it goes… people will or won’t read the terms. a checkbox isn’t going to change that.
