Hi guys, just wondered what machines you guys use.

I am only asking as i started out on a Dell pentium Duo laptop a few years ago and was wondering what people are using, is anyone still retro old style Macs?

I have always been a PC man as that was what i have always had, but since getting a Mac last year i am swinging apple these days, now i have got use the the keyboard and layout of the Mac :)

Also does anyone know how to calibrate the colours on the Mac?

I use a PC from home which has:

27icch Dell LED screen, 24inch LED Acer Screen, 3.4Ghz i7 12Gb Ram 1Gb Dedicated Graphics Card 1Tb Hard drive

At work:

27inch iMac 2011 3.1Ghz i5 12gb Ram 1Tb Hard drive

I grew up on a Mac, as my dad was quite the fan (and they use Macs at the office, too, so we had the old models at home). During highschool I’ve used an XP for several years, but currently I’m working on a 13” 2010 Macbook Pro (the 7,1 model): 2.4GHz C2Duo, 4GB Ram, NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB, OSX 10 .7

I intend to upgrade it to 10.8 as soon as software devs had some time to update. I’m not too much of a bleeding edge kind of guy when it comes to my OS (and besides, I still havn’t bought a proper external HD, so I’d have to make a timemachine backup on a borrowed disk – I back up my documents with Dropbox)

For the additional workspace, I hook it up to a cheapskate 22” HKC monitor :P

Laptop (main computer): 2008 Unibody Macbook Pro 15”, 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB Ram, 120GB SSD , has 9400m & 9600m video cards (I always just use the 9400m) and 10.8

It has been getting a bit slow so I have ordered myself (should get it in about 2 weeks): 2012 Macbook Pro 15” Retina, 2.3GHz i7, 16GB Ram, 256GB SSD .

My Desktop: First Generation 27” iMac. So i7 2.8GHz, has 8GB ram, 1TB HDD (hard drives are slow man, I hate it) OS 10 .8.

My Server (where all my code is stored): Random PC Q6600 (Quad 2.4GHz), 8GB Ram, About 9TB of storage (Raid 1 and a Raid 5, the Raid 5 sucks for writes), Windows 2008 R2 with HyperV.

2x HP MicroServer for backup. FreeBSD running with ZFS .

I also have a couple of Asus RS300 -E6 PS4 1RU Servers in co-location for my business hosted things (which is what runs all my codecanyon demos etc). Both running ESXi (12GB and 16GB of ram).

Plus I have a wide range of retro computers :D Apple G4 Cube, G4 iMac/iLamp, PowerMac G5, Dual Pentium Pro Machine, SGI O2 and SGI Indy. Too much to list here basically.

HA sooo bad, too much stuff :)

An average computer, featuring an i5 CPU , 8GB of DDR3 Memory and a fair Nvidia gfx card. 2×22” widescreen monitors and a nice illuminated keyboard. I am in the process of getting an additional monitor.. I can’t help myself.

I have a 2TB (RAID 1) NAS which backup all my work station’s data and act as my local appache server for work. :)
