Do your searches from here http://www.flickr.com/search/advanced/?

and make sure to check all the boxes in the Creative Commons section. Then the search results will only include content that is free to modify and use commercially. Note that you always need to credit the original artist, which is usually done with their username and a link to the image on flickr.

I’d recommend photos8.com as Flickr and alike sites 99% want author credit and how can you give author credit in a template that you will sell? The buyer doesn’t want to see author credits throughout the theme and will probably just delete them anyway. Tricky huh. At least with Photos8 you can just get on and use the images.

I think envato should do the same thing as

http://www.thefwa.com/wallpaper

let the autors upload original wallpapers with envato, themeforest ore other logos, this could be very intersting for diferent purposes and for templates as well
