What do you do when one person, with too much time on their hands, starts hogging up the item discussion. This has happened on more than one occasion and I’ve only got three items for sale! I realise these guys are in the minority but they make so much noise that it probably sheds an unfair light on the work in question.

Should I just ignore them?

Any help to a newcomer to TF would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

wao…. I see what you mean after looking at one of your item’s discussion.

I think you should contact support and ask for at least some of the posts to be removed. Some are really unnecesary….

But contrary to what you said of the discussion sheding some unfair light on the work… I think that the discussion in question actually shows that the buyer is not very sure in the matter and therefore keeps posting questions and comments…. and at the same time it shows that you were friendly and gave great support.

If I were you I would contact support. Tell them your opinion on the situation and tell them what you would like them to do about it. If Support agrees they might help you and remove comments.

Hey Ollie you’ve brought an interested point here, I had the same issue with my latest theme, “this guy” was arguing and trying to irritate me I just told him to contact support and I flagged all his messages as inappropriate. Is annoying but we have to know how to deal with it :D

I would start by saying that calling people insane is not helping anybody, there are many other terms you could be using like inexperienced with design and programing, lazy, over talkative.

The solution to your problem is rather a simple one – as much as possible make a policy to offer support only through email:

  1. On your profile page you could write something like – “If you need further help beyond the documentation that is provided with each item, then please contact me through the form on this page and I will be more then happy to assist you.”
  2. Make the first comment in the item discussion thread and mention that to guarantee a fast response, all question from buyers should be addressed on email. The quicker response time will motivate most people to contact you through email.
  3. If you get a question in the discussion if it is simple answer it on the spot and if not give an answer and indicate to people that they should send an email and you will continue the discussion through that form. Once the issue is fixed create another reply to the original question with the answer and update the faq’s

Also if people don’t want answers and just want to irritate you then go with ivor’s advice ;)

To be honest I don’t mind giving support but it starts to grate when this sort of thing starts happening.

Anyway, first I’m going to follow Ivor’s advice and flag those comments and then I’m going to update my profile to clarify a few things for customers.

Offtopic – You’re totally right with this Bitpub however sometimes we can sound a little bit harsh but the thing is that english is not our main language and sometimes we’re trying to be nice but we’re not :D
