What Updates Should We Make to the API?

I understand this will be a (resource, money, put anything here) loss for Envato, not even a b/e since it won’t make any money, but it will make many other people very happy so it might be a win in the end. At least the happiness of your partners and customers is important in the long run. This could seal the Envato ecosystem very nicely.

Bigger authors with lots of support requests need proper forums (done by them) with fast and easy access. Current comments are not enough and the upcoming forums will not be enough as well no matter how hard you will try.

I already sent an email to you Jeff and Mark about this a few months ago so you can search for it as there may be more thoughts.

@authors: Please put +1 on this if you would like to see this as well so Envato can better understand if this is a priority.

+1 I’ve been hoping for that for a while and I think Fresh is right, this would be an excellent way to “seal the Envato ecosystem”.

I have been requesting this one in the API thread for a while Format is not even that big of a deal I would say just strip images and links and let the end developer take care of the rest.

Simplification and consistency

• new-files
• new-files-from-user
• item
• item-prices

Why is it called a “file” one moment and an “item” the other? What’s the difference?

Why is “item-prices” a separate set? Can’t it be included under item?

More intuitive URL ’s

Take a look at the Dribbble and Vimeo API’s for example, they do a great job.

• Make updates via the API . (Reply to comments, submit item update, etc.)

I couldn’t find this so not sure if the option exists, but it would be cool to be able to get the user’s average star rating (with total votes). In addition, the total ratings of each file.

I don’t understand the API . I wish there was an APP on Facebook where people can buy and listen to my songs right in the APP . I don’t know what to do with an API without an APP . or not sure what I would do with API .

It’s technically possible. Altough the purchase button would lead you to the audio jungle page of the song

Any news yet on updates? At the least, pure text item descriptions would be awesome. I would even settle for raw output and remove tags / formatting myself!
