Sony vegas works well with Sony MXF files, but I’m not sure about the Canon mxf files. Hereby you are suggested to convert them to WMV which is well supported in Sony Vegas. I myself have a Multi-channel MXF converter named MXF Multi-Mixer, maybe you can have a try: http://www.pavtube.com/mxf-multimixer/

yes, Sony vegas don’t spports Canon XF300 MXF file, you should convert them to WMV formats which support with Vegas the best. Some freeware supports to convert MXF to WMV, such as Handbrake, but the output wmv video seems don’t supports withe Vegas; I tried a MXF Converter for Mac seems works well for converting MXF video to Sony Vegas, here is the guide: http://www.abettersoft.com/how-to/import-mxf-to-sony-vegas.html
