Hi, all…

How to decide which one of our items that should be set as featured item in our profile ?

Which item to choose ?

How do you choose ?

1. Your item with the highest sales ? So the item will get more sale because that item proved to be liked by people.

2. Item with the highest price? So you will gain maximum earning as that expensive item sold.. again and again.

3. Item with lowest sales? So the item will get more coverage and sales, as your other items..

4. Your latest item? Promote your new item to fans / envato followers..

5. Your most unique / different item? Show off your rare item that haven’t been posted before by other author in the marketplace..

6. Item that match with marketplace’s trend ? Promote item that meet with the latest trend in the creative industry..

7. ...Other measure / parameter maybe? ...

Well, we are new author here, :) so any advice from experienced authors, ‘shiny paw’ holders, buyers, reviewers or staffs will be very-very appreciated.

best regards,

I’ve noticed a lot of authors have many many different products and items. I like to keep a small number so that we can make these the best possible products in their category.

Therefore our most expensive product is our top selling product and is also our featured product.

I dont have any real “rules” I get attached to a file now and then so I will feature it for a while. Then switch it up a few weeks later.

I don’t have to many files right now, so for me its not to difficult.

-> Well, so far.. our item which sold fastest (in quantity) is the cheapest one indeed.. :D

-> Thanks for sharing, Mitradalla.. We got your point.. And yes, switching between items will be difficult as our products increases.. Just wondering what would ‘super paw’ authors (which have many files) say about this..

I don’t often re-select ‘Featured Item’ in my profile. I simply feature only the item that are highly needed by my buyers.

-> It takes extra-time to switch / reselect ‘featured item’ for top author with 120 items like you! :D LOL

Well, choosing item that highly needed by our buyers is interesting..,

are you trying to say that we should consider what’s trending now in the marketplace ?

There is actually nothing like ‘Vogue’ in a creative community such as Envato. Just simply do what you do best and above all, what you are confident in making and sure of sales.

Mostly I’m featuring new items, but when some holidays come and I have some themed file I’m featuring this one isntead of the new ones. For example christmas actions in christmas period or summer flyers on summer holidays and so on.

Oh and I’m also using my avatar for showing my latest item or the upcomming one ;)

Try to calculate the value per click (preview) for each item. Example:

Item 1
Price: $40
Conversion (purchase) rate: 0,5%
Value per click = $40 * 0,005 = $0,2

Item 2
Price: $25
Conversion (purchase) rate: 1,2%
Value per click = $25 * 0,012 = $0,3

Perhaps the product that needs the most promotion in your portfolio is the newest, items with no sales are the hardest to sell as people don’t like to take the risk
