Another thing that works for me: go and do something things you have been putting off, like boring chores or duty visits. Often the relief of having finally done them brings on a creative high.
My advice as someone who has made his living his entire life of 62 years with art is…just keep on working anyway!
Some great things can oftentimes come from failure.
@JonBuice Thanks for the advice
@digitalscience I think I am going to take the rest of the week off and just work on music that I find fun and interesting. It’s funny cause it gets so easy to get stuck in making commercial music mode that I forget why I wanted to be a musician in the first place.
@joiaco I think I will do some of that while I am on vacation. My girlfriend has been wanting me to build a birdhouse so she can watch the birds for a while now. I think that might just be what I need.
Thanks again for all the good advice!
@mfishel I respect your advice. It’s awesome to hear from an artist whose dedicated there life to being a creative soul. Maybe after the bird house, I’ll sit on my porch swing and strum around on the acoustic guitar till some creativity smacks me in the face.
Try this on for size:

...crickets…
okay, no coding jokes in audiojungle threads
In all seriousness though, like others have said, I find doing something else tends to be the best remedy. Not thinking about it directly tends to let the ideas develop subconsciously and I usually come back to the task knowing what needs to be done. Being someplace beautiful, peaceful, or inspirational doesn’t hurt either.
Good luck!
Good ideas are very shy. Try to think and they will hide. The best ideas come from watching things like people walking by. Walking by the beach or staring at the moon can stimulate your mind to come up with something soon
This was made for writers, but it’s true for musicians and creatives, too:
Writer’s block is nothing more than you judging your work and ideas prematurely. Separate the CREATIVE and JUDGMENT actions, and the creativity will flow. Enjoy!
