What's Up With The Search Function?

I use the sidebar search on a regular basis to try and find the files that I am interested in – but over the last 2 days when I try to search for something it returns all files.

For example – I click on Wordpress in the main nav, then in the sidebar I type in Landing Page – I get results from every category – 7248 Results!

Is there an issue with the search? Is anyone else experiencing this same issue?

There’s ALWAYS been an issue with the search… the issue is that it’s useless

Then there is the no results found page – but click again and magically there are results! Behold the power of the double search, no search inception style thing.

and yet the one of the most important features..

The search would be the more important way to get buyers if your theme is out of the homepage… unfortunately, doesn’t works well…

Wow, I knew we had some work to do on search, but that is just broken — I think this specifically is a new bug we introduced in the last week. Have filed a bug, hopefully there’s a quick fix just around the corner! Thanks for pointing this out.

Without a proper testing arrangement / resources, users forced to become beta testers!

From my observation, every little change comes with atleast 1 noticeable bug from users side.

We just deployed a change that should fix up issues when searching from the category page. Beyond this we are working to clean up our search code and avoid embarrassing mistakes like this in the future. Apologies for any inconvenience.
