I know we have started the Plugin’s section and it is open to any extensions, but I have a few questions with it’s arrival.
I find it very odd and monopolistic that only one user has themes that were all ready and submitted to ThemeForest for the new “Magento” sections, also being the most expensive at $82. Also, another seemingly mundane Magento script is selling for the most expensive of all scripts on CodeCanyon! ($47)
I understand anyone can add their themes and scripts, but is anyone asking where this specific Category came from, especially considering that no one on the New Plugins Category recommendations page was asking for this and it’s the only plugin category listed?
Magento is great, but it is by no means the most popular ecommerce solution, first turned-to among authors like ourselves, nor the highest rated. In fact, it’s a feature creep, intricate and extreme overkill for most projects (Unless we have a client who has a $10,000 budget and wants to start selling thousands of products…in which case, why would he turn to an $80 template?).
Isn’t it a sign that if there is only one author contributing to a category that is is probably unpopular? It seems to make much more sense to me if we had a Tumblr or even ModX gallery.
Just my two cents. Anyone else seeing this?
