I’m currently ranked 713th. I’ve been steadily declining for a while now. There’s lots of solid competition on AJ and I haven’t been able to keep uploading on a regular basis. But I intend to get cracking this summer.

I’m ranked 183. It’s been interesting how each higher page of “top authors” becomes a bit harder and harder to make headway on. I felt like I was flying through until I hit page 4. Each page you get to the more sales you need to make it to the next page. Here are a few stats on the top authors pages:

page 20: has a sales range of 59 to 65 sales. It takes only 6 sales to make it to page 19

Page 10 has a sales range of 156 sales to 177, that’s only 21 sales range you have to go through to make it to page 9.

Page 5 has a sales range of 364-465, you would need just over 100 sales to get to the next page.

page 3 has a sales range of 680-1034, that’s over 350 sales to make it through that page

page 2 has a sales range of 1038-2037. Now you need 1000! sales to get to the next page.

page 1 (the elite): the 50th ranked author (migueljl) has 2083 sales while the #1 ranked, TimMcmorris has 19421 sales. That’s over a 17,000 sales difference.

As you can see the higher you go the dramatic increase in sales needed to keep climbing. This just goes to show you that’s it’s a marathon and not a sprint.
