When you hover the mouse over the 80×80 icon for a theme in the list you get a larger preview of the theme. There is no field for including this image when you upload a wordpress theme. I uploaded my file anyway and put a note in the comments as to what it was for. When my theme was added, instead of using my preview image for the rollover, just a basic screenshot of my live version was used.
So, I went into the edit options for my theme and uploaded my preview image again, and put a note in the upload to say what it was for.. My theme ‘update’ was just approved and guess what, nothing changed. I still don’t have my created preview show up but rather a plain screenshot with no extra text / features / branding written on it.
So what do I do?
When you upload the zip with your screenshots in it… the very first image (eg. 1.jpg) should be your preview image that shows when people hover over it…
Don’t worry… I couldn’t figure it out the first time either…
Shouldn’t that be documented somewhere?
