Just asking where the weekly review has disappeared to – last update was Dec 18th – that’s getting rather close to a full month without an update – I for one personally loved this – it’s the fairest thing Envato has ever done to expose new authors, creative works, files that deserve a little attention etc -

And while I mention fair ways of promoting new items / new authors etc – why bother tweeting about a file uploaded last month with 703 sales already – spread the love a little please.

Thx!

As far as I know, there’s haven’t been any blog posts since the 18th of December because they will be changing the blog structure this month.

I do agree with your second paragraph though.

I was wondering about this too, seems a little unfair that a select few get mentioned and the rest of us don’t…. anyhow…

I’ll +1 this too :D

Hey guys – the blogs are switching over to a new Tumblr setup within the next few weeks. That’s why all of the marketplaces have shutdown temporarily, until that time.

I thought I might continue putting something together on a weekly basis and just publish it on my personal blog but I just haven’t had time in the last couple weeks to pursue it.

Would anyone be interested in reading it if I did that?

I’m actually a little lost on the Tumblr thing… can someone enlighten me as to why you’d pick Tumblr over Wordpress or another full powered blog engine?

Ease of use? Hipster appeal? Cooler name?

I started an account today and was relatively unimpressed beyond the ability to post from Firefox using their plugin and the fact that it’s a simplified backend (which can be great in simple circumstances)... I’m not being sarcastic or anything – actually looking for an answer so I can motivate myself to make some cool Tumblr themes ;) What makes it hot? What differentiates it?

Edit – here’s a fun article if anyone else is interested in reading more: http://www.ikirudesign.com/2008/01/11/showdown-tumblr-vs-wordpress/ – According to the article, I’m just a Level 3 Nerd and therefore am overlooking the power of a simple, sexy backend.
