Hi!

I strat develop a new theme, and I cannot decide which framework I should use. UpTheme?, Thematic? PressWork? K9? Whic is the best and I may use it free? Thank you for the answers.

My advice, build your own, that way you will learn a lot more and will be prepared for all the support questions you’ll receive :)

Why build your own? Find one you like and tweak it, there’s no point in reinventing the wheel while there are lots of good frameworks. When you feel you need more, you can tweak the one you like or create another one, but unless you really need a custom one, no need to spend that much time on a custom framework.

I use NHP and it looks & works pretty good.

NHP free framework?

I’ve been using a modified version of NHP for a while now (not willing to put my active development projects on hold while I complete my own :P ). I will second the above comment suggesting building your own… you’ll learn a lot, know the code (easier to debug/add features if you understand it inside and out), and end up with a system more tailored (and branded?) to your needs. However, as for pre-existing options, I haven’t had any issues with NHP yet.
