So now when I’m finally Elite, I think it’s time to get an iPad. I’m just not sure should I get an used 1st gen (200€) or 2nd gen (350€).
It would be used just for testing my themes and general web browsing + email, so is there any benefit to pay almost double to get newer version? I’m not interested in the cameras or its dimensions, since I’m not going to carry it around.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The 3rd generation is current (“The New iPad”). The 2nd generation (“iPad 2”) would probably be fine (main difference for our purposes is retina display I believe), but I don’t see much sense in investing in an iPad “1” at this point.
Personally though, if I were buying an iPad right now, I’d get the newest generation – simply because you’ll likely be able to use it as a testing device for longer before it becomes obsolete.

Very valid point. Though, the iPad 1 will be perfect for testing purposes. Safari is all you need if you plan on building pages. And there is always jail-breaking if you’re missing some features due to software updates
