“Our Review team provided these comments:
This is a badge or label, more than a logo. You can try uploading it as a set to Vectors.”
My rejected logo:
I would disagree with this odd reason and here is why:
Firstly, and here are a few samples of real well known company logos:
Papa John’s and The Pizza Company are and there logo looks 100% like a badge so who said I can’t design in such style? This is the style I’m aiming for and this is the purpose behind my logo.
My pizza logo is of the exact style that pizza companies like and it fits exactly to the pizza concept logos.
Here are some random logos that look like a badge/label from Graphicriver
(the music group is mine and has sold for 16 times):
TBH, if my logo is rejected because it reminds some sort of badge/label, than I think ALL the logo mascots should be uploaded as vectors and be sold for $4 and not $29 as a logo. Why are they sold as logos? Because they have some random text next to the mascot?
Come on guys, what’s going on with this marketplace? I have never been so frustrated with these weird rejection reasons. This is just ridiculous.
And support will do nothing. I have a ticket waiting 2 weeks for a reply.
Hmm, I think that you havea right!
This can be logo! I am with you!
I am with you too, is a nice logo for me
Hi Elad, I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble with reviews/rejections. Please bear in mind that Support has indeed been in contact, and politely replied to existing tickets, including via Twitter as well.
Please understand that even though reviewers will often take additional time to provide more information, they are not obligated to do so. We know it can be frustrating to have a submission rejected, but we hope that you won’t be discouraged.
As I’ve said before, you’re a great author, and the 40+ approved logos on your portfolio shows it, but please do try to remain respectful towards both support staff and reviewers.
Being a designer and author myself, I kindly suggest moving on to a different item for the time being. You’ll most likely see the example above with a different/fresh pair of eyes, and hopefully be able to improve it, so it becomes a much more useful and flexible stock logo template.
Thanks for your understanding and keep up the hard work.
Eladchai you have all rights to be frustrated. I don’t want to add fuel to the fire but I don’t see a reason why a badge cannot be a logo. There are plenty of examples out there of badges being logos.
I appreciate all that gr reviewers do for us.
But if a reviewer is wrong about something support staff should look into this. We are all humans and do make mistakes I m sure all Eladchai wants is the logo approval. And he quite frankly deserves it.
I hope this matter resolves with no ego clashes just because a reviewer makes and error (and I don't say its a bad thing, cos we all do) and the author loses the opportunity of submitting it in a category which is appropriate.
Keep us posted EladChai
Had similar logos rejected for the same reason. Apparently you can only upload a graphic elements and below or at one side the “name” of a fictional company and the “slogan” of it. All three elements must be separated and not in a enclosure so as I understand the client can change the name and slogan without any trouble of the size of the name in the enclosure.
Now, the graphic element on a logo is nothing but an element like its own name indicates. Thus all “logos” in GR are nothing but graphics which they could be also in vectors category if they didnt had a name.
However, creating a Brand and Selling it its an entirely different thing, which envato doesn’t seem to accept. And it is in my oppinion what its happening here. You are trying to sell more than a logo. You are trying to sell a brand.
I think this is something that should be considered as a new category for the marketplace, and would generate more revenue than the “graphic_element+text” aka: logos; Since brand names with an Iconic logo design ( on an enclosure or otherwise: wordmark etc) and in combination with the rest of the different aspects of a brand such as URL’s, visual identity and stationary design are nowadays in a lot of demand.
I think because they are logo templates, which are meant to be modified? Where as a badge type of logo template is kind of set in stone and might be hard to modify. But I don’t know, lol i like your logo idea but I’m not the boss
and what i meant was, the logos that you showed are actual logos that are finalized not logo templates.
it’s not hard to modify at all. Very easy to do.
You’re not gonna buy this logo if you have a 15 word company name because it obviously won’t fit but this doesn’t mean that the logo can’t be sold on GR. I can also offer myself to modify the logo for free.
Anyway, I give up. Frustration 1 – Me 0
