Why are extended licences on VideoHive much cheaper than e.g. on Themeforest?

Because, I would say the effort to create a fantastic 30 sec. video display and a great looking email template are at least the same. And somebody who uses the two in a commercial way could probably make the same amount of money with each.

An example for projects I saw: Videohive: regular 20 $, extended 200 $ Themeforest: regular 10 $, extended 500 $

It’s not about the prices itself, but can somebody please explain why there is such a big difference between regular/extendend for video projects opposed to regular/extended for web projects? Because I would have said the amount of work for the author and the added value for the buyer can be the same.

I think the core problem simply lies in the inability of the system to have separate % multiplier per product category, not just per marketplace. Therefore compromises have been made. Another wanted feature would be the ability to turn on/off extended license per item, not just per author.

+1 long suggested feature – I guess it’s in the pipe :(

This has been discussed over and over for more than a year. And we have suggested developer licenses (Codecanyon) or Discount codes if buying multiple licenses, option for Extended License per item etc.

I know that Envato is looking at different options, but unfortunately we have had no real progress on this for more than a year. :S
