[ Disclaimer: I posted another similar question but that was badly titled so I didn’t get any responses so posting rephrased version of the same ]

I recently bought a themeforest theme. I’d like to (of course) generate my web pages dynamically based on information in my database so I’ll be generating HTML using PHP. I imagine pretty much everyone who buys a theme will invariably want to incorporate aspects of any theme dynamically and many will be using PHP to do this.

But does everyone end up repeating this same work of chopping up the HTML into chunks that are then echo’d by PHP?

If so, why don’t designers always provide PHP version of their HTML templates?

It’s such an obvious question but being a noob, I’m sure I’m missing something.

Would appreciate any hints/pointers/corrections,

Thanks Num

For 2 main reasons:

1. Not every designer is also a skilled developer.

2. Not every developer wishes to purchase a CMS theme for extra cash, when all they need is the cheaper HTML version.

+ php versions dont change the price enough to make it worth it with the amount of sales in the site template category, its more realistic to spend the time developing it to a WordPress theme
