Why need a drummer when somebody can do it with keys?!

Hey folks,

just saw this amazing clip on Youtube a couple of minutes ago, I mean I play the drums myself and I often do some programming with keyboards manually though, so I was really astonished how skills can be developed on keys if we talk about programming the drums!

This is pretty cool, btw the sound of the drum library he uses is awesome as well!

I’ve seen quite a few guys play drums on keys, some are really great at it but I don’t ever feel like they groove or fit in the pocket like a live drummer. There is nothing like having a world class drummer play on your tracks – the feel and nuances they achieve are amazing!

Yup. And you can expand this to just ‘world class musicians’ playing on your tracks. In the grand scheme of things the best musicians are really not that expensive when it comes to what they can do for your music. They make a difference that is often intangible, and technology can do many things, but it can’t replicate those intangibles.

I guess you don`t need a drummer but you can still feel the “digital” sound of digital drums. There is a completely different feel when you record live drums with mics.
