What do you think about?

We have reached a point where we have enough of these minimalistic designs with generic layouts (i.e. header-banner-teasers-footer). If your design doesn’t bring anything new to the table, unfortunately it can’t be accepted.

If you want to submit any more files that falls into the similar-items category they not only have to be up to our standards, but really outperform any existing ones.

Thanks for your info.

Because if they will continue to accept such items it will reduce overall quality of the TF portfolio and the income of each author with such type of items – which is bad.

I know many of authors including us faced this problem and not only in PSD category, but in HTML and WP too. And it may be very sad and sometimes you think its not honest when compate to other similiar items that are accepted, but in the end its for the best.

Create something unique.

Trust me, I hate that – I seriously do.

But on the other hand, it is good, it really is. Especially for me, as a designer, it pushes me to do something to break these limits.

Well, that rule kinda “doesn’t apply” to veterans on TF, because everything they do mostly gets accepted in the end, but to the new comer, it might just be a pain.

It’s good to have such tight rules, it creates eager competition and only the best could get in.

Great point made by mout, there are lots of bad looking ones which probably are worse than yours, but it’s how the life in the big city goes.

All the best!

It’s really, really strict now.

They said that my theme would make a good HTML template, I believe that strongly too.

But it seems like the PSDs are getting more like each other everyday and it’s really tough to step in there.

Altough I see templates that are very generic, that “strict” is very “blurry”.

Feels like it’s all hope and luck now!

Anyways, good luck!

I hate that your files PSD acceptance is in the hands of one individual. What if that person doesn’t like flat designs and it’s flat? Oh, looks like you’re not getting accepted.

Furthermore, I wish they would give REASONS for denial other then the general automated robot text of durrr not accepted, we know why but can’t tell you

TF rule for PSD submissions:

Submit PSD files that would be impossible to code or would look silly in a real website :)
