I highly recommend Apple products – they’re not as expensive for those of us who are self-employed cause about half of the price gets taken off your taxes.

It’s like Photoshop vs GIMP , you can argue that you can do the same things in both, but really, Photoshop has a MUCH better interface.

Well the Blue Screen of Death is not on the Apple products. :))

Better user interface. User friendly. Easy to use. Perfect for designers. A lot of Apps. Apps actually work and the design for the Apple products apps is just a lot better than the Windows apps.

If I remember other things I will post. ;)

No no ConstantinPotorac. “A cognitive bias is the human tendency to make systematic decisions in certain circumstances based on cognitive factors rather than evidence”

Am I the only one here that thinks that the interface on Mac is really cheesy? Dated pill shaped buttons, distracting shiny blue scrollbar, big icon buttons in many programs, dated brushed metal textures everywhere, etc. Love the industrial design of the hardware, but wow, the software is pretty ugly IMO .

You can get an extremely fast PC for half (or less) the price of the mac equivalent.

Not sure if you were being serious but both Mac and Linux have BSOD equivalents called Kernal Panics. It’s just a fatal error with different names. See all 3 death screens here on wikipedia

On another note, I find those crash screens tell a lot about the operating systems.
  • Mac has no info, just says to reboot, is more visually pleasing.
  • Windows has some primary info to troubleshoot, is not as pretty.
  • Linux … I have no idea. Yep, that sums up Linux. Looks like console or something.

indeed, they are.
Screenshot description = Linux kernel panic under QEMU . The crash was forced by an erroneous boot kernel parameter.

For the Windows one, that’s just telling you at what address in the memory that the error occurred. It’s information, but not useful information unless you’re a “hacker”.

P.S: Windows 8 one tells about the same as the mac one:
