I visited Chichén Itzá couple of years ago, and I was most impressed with the acoustics of the place. Especially how the main pyramid made bird sounds when you clapped your hands at the bottom of the pyramid, but also the acoustics of the ball court. The sacrificial culture was a bit violent but interesting. In general just a very intriguing place to visit, especially with a knowledgeable tour guide.
