With Windows 7 being released on October 22, Will this effect us in a good way? I have heard that it is suppose to be more like Mac OS? Any thoughts before I pre-order a copy.

I’m running Windows 7 Release Candidate and it’s pretty nice. A huge improvement from Vista, but of course, nothing will ever beat Windows XP in terms of fluidity and stability.

Well not exactly 1199 less windows 7 (approx 200) = 999 for a new mac. But I was being sarcastic

Yes I thought of that, but wouldn’t I then need to buy all new programs to run on it?

Depends what software you have really – you can always put windows on your mac and run your existing software until you get mac versions if you don’t already have. If you have cs4 for $20 adobe will switch it for just $20!!!Yes I thought of that, but wouldn’t I then need to buy all new programs to run on it?With Windows 7 being released on October 22, Will this effect us in a good way? The only way I know of that’s more like Mac is the taskbar’s thumbnails are now much larger. Other than that, the task bar is much improved from Vista, allowing you to play/pause music players by hovering over the icon in iTunes & Windows Media Player.
Windows 7 is very stable and snappy. Its as fast as Windows XP on my dual core pc with 4gb ram.
Another plus if you’re upgrading from XP is if 3D drivers fail, Windows will re-launch them without crashing anything. This was in Vista as well.
Definitely going to pick it up when it comes out.
