yeah most threads that have the words OS, mac, windows or PC generally end up like this, it only takes one to mention “get a mac” or “get a pc” and the threads lost

Well, for me, choosing between mac and a pc is no different than choosing which brand of shirt, or which brand of detergent. SOme people choose a particular brand for a lot of reasons, could be price, or quality. But it all boils down to functionality really, both have their own advantages and disadvantages.

As for me I’m using Windows 7 Ultimate edition (RTM…yes RTM ehhehe) on my laptop (pc) and it works like a charm. I’m never ever gonna go back to xp or vista. Before windows 7, I kept reinstalling my os, switching from vista and xp and even Ubuntu. But now, I’ve settled with windows 7. People who prefer mac might say, oh it’s just a mac os wanabee, I don’t care. Coz for me it works. Let’s face it, most of the software in the world are natively build for the PC that runs on a windows os. So, even if I’d get a mac, I’d still run windows on it.

I agree. As I stated earlier, when I started this thread was to discuss the pros and cons of Windows 7, which I would still like to discuss, but it seemed to fall off track after the 1st few posts?

What I said was I heard Windows 7 was suppose to be more like Mac OS, I never mentioned anything about how a Mac OS was better than Windows or vice versus.

I started reading this thread in the hope that maybe there’d be some talk of how web stuff runs on w7 – if there are any issues I should be aware of, y’know cos that is actually what we do around here…

Ah! the tedious old Mac / PC debate rears its ugly head once again.

What is it that so polarises people? Are they not both computers that run broadly similar software and have broadly similar capabilities?

I’ve used both for years. I have my preferences. But it’s just a matter of personal taste.

What’s the big deal?
