Hmm next featured author is?... Some of that themes looks old, questionable is that they meet requirements. And pricing of these items. Not fair.

As purely a buyer and not a developer i really don’t think the talented Wordpress theme devs on Themeforest have much to worry about. When i look for a theme i check most of the popular sites like Woothemes, Yoothemes and various others but 9 times out of 10 my chosen theme is always purchased at Themeforest. Looking at the Woothemes selection i don’t think they are up to the quality of many of the awesome themes on Themeforest. I am not saying they are bad themes but if you are selling on Themeforest and produce quality themes and continue to do so then i think you can rest easy and have faith in your own work.

That is just my opinion.

Think of it this way… Pricing for any item is determined by ThemeForest people and not by the authors. And mostly it is based on design and reputation of the author and not the quality of code or features in a theme. So, if WooThemes comes to TF and next ElegantThemes comes to TF. Soon, it will be a TF monopoly and since there is no more competition and no more price wars, you can expect prices to rise. As a buyer I would not consider this a move in my favor.

1. Those theme’s are NO WHERE NEAR good enough for themeforest, and would have been rejected by any other author.

2. They are massively overpriced.

Really poor consistency in terms of equality for authors. As a regular buyer, I wouldn’t dream of buying those tired/dated/overpriced themes.

This makes me extremely sad. Recently I tried to submit a theme I had spent months of hard work and effort on but it was rejected as being too generic and I was told that there already a lot of themes like the one I submitted, then Woothemes comes along and uploads some really questionable themes that look like they’re from Templatemonster.com back in the early 2000’s. The Canvas theme is one of those.

I get Canvas is a blank framework theme for creating something great, but my multi-purpose theme which has style and power out of the box was rejected and it’s not fair. Maybe I am just jealous, but this is a big slap in the face to those who try their hardest to develop a theme for Themeforest only to have it rejected.

Can someone at Envato please respond to this topic?

Same thoughts here. I wonder how most of them passed the review process (or maybe they aren’t evaluated using the same ‘minimum aesthetic requirements’?)

Now this is just insane, if we would submit this kind of themes on here most of them would get rejected almost all. Envato this a discrase from your part. Now sad to say that but i really want for a competition for envato to arise. Would move all of my items there just coz of this action!

Plus double ? !
This is just plain wrong! Most of the authors are working their asses off and then Envato makes a move like this.

Is this a “Thank You!” to existing authors for building up a marketplace ?
